Dubbs Counseling was established by Brianna Dubbs, MA, MFT. With extensive experience counseling adults, children, couples, families and groups, Brianna has treated a wide range of clinical conditions, disorders and psychological problems, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, chronic illness, poverty, isolation, self-esteem, grief, and childhood and sexual abuse.
Prior to private practice, Brianna provided counseling services while at Providence Community Services, which delivers home-based and clinic-based mental health services, day treatment and multi-agency-based psychotherapeutic services to children and their families. At Providence, she conducted individual, family and group therapy for high-risk children (ages 5-10) and their parents/guardians, as well as provided counseling to children with reactive attachment disorder, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, and other conditions stemming from child abuse and domestic violence, loss and grief, adoption, parenting, and foster care issues.
Her experience includes work for the Orange County Jail where she provided mental health and counseling services, as well as The Center of Orange County where she counseled individuals and couples coping with HIV infection and other issues.
She also served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Coast Community College, where she conducted classroom discussions on topics such as principles of psychology and adult development.
Brianna has served as a Research Assistant at Vanguard University as well as a volunteer at the Child Abuse Prevention Center, where she acted as a liaison between social workers, medical professionals, therapists and families.
She earned her Master of Psychology degree from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Vanguard University. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage Family Therapists (AAMFT) and California Association of Marriage Family Therapists (CAMFT).
